The S&P 500 Index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) finished trading on Friday about as close to flat as it gets, down barely more than one-half a point, or a minuscule 0.02%, to finish the week. It was nearly split down the middle on the number of stocks that gained versus fell.
The two best-performing S&P stocks were McKesson (NYSE: MCK) and DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), up 4.3% and 3.9% today, respectively. The biggest losers were DexCom (NASDAQ: DXCM) and Duke Realty (NYSE: DRE), down 2.3% on the day. We haven't seen a lot of days with such low volatility this year, with such a small variation (less than 7%) between the best and worst performers on the day.
