In the week ending May 11, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 212,000, a decrease of 16,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 228,000. The 4-week moving average was 225,000, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's unrevised average of 220,250. [See full report]
Thursday morning's seasonally adjusted 212K new claims, down 16K from the previous week, was better than the Investing.com forecast of 220K.
