Professor Barry Laird is the coordinating investigator for the Cancer Appetite Recovery Study (CAReS) researching cancer anorexia. He is an academic clinician specializing in palliative medicine at the University of Edinburgh and is a medical expert in cancer cachexia and anorexia research. Clinically, Professor Laird holds consultant positions in Palliative Medicine at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and St Columba's Hospice. He is passionate about improving symptoms in people with life-limiting illnesses.
