Former President Donald Trump was put in a spot of bother by a news report that said the former president’s payments to witnesses in the New York civil fraud trial came out of his campaign funding. His niece Mary Trump sees the revelation as “so bad” for her uncle.
An ABC report said on Monday that expert witnesses appearing to testify in the trial were paid an hourly rate of anywhere between $350 to $1,595 per hour, with about $2.45 million spent in total. The bulk of the payment came from the former president’s “Save America” Political Action Committee, or PAC, it added.
