F - 2023 Lincoln Corsair Features New Driver-Assist Technology

Ford Motor Co.’s (NYSE: F) luxury vehicle brand, Lincoln, unveiled that it has integrated its hands-free highway driving system into entry-level Corsair crossovers. The move comes as the automaker aims to expand the technology to more affordable vehicles.

The 2023 Corsair will be the sixth Ford vehicle to offer the system and only the second Lincoln model. The technology, dubbed as ActiveGlide for Lincoln and BlueCruise for Ford, is undergoing an expansion, with the Corsair being the lowest-priced vehicle in the company to feature the technology.

“Corsair plays an important role in our portfolio — artistically crafted and expertly designed to attract younger Lincoln clients and give them the luxury experience they desire,” Michael Sprague, Lincoln’s North America director, said in a statement. “We want the drive experience to be even more effortless and personal and the new Corsair will deliver that with advanced technology and new features.”

The Corsair will range from USD40,000 to USD55,000, which includes a plug-in hybrid electric model. The new model is expected to arrive in U.S. showrooms in early 2023 and ordering is now open to the public.

“It was just a natural progression with Corsair being the volume sales leader,” Dan DeRubeis, Corsair brand manager, told CNBC. “I think that’s the approach that we’ll continue to take with other programs into the future.”
