Some of my best buys in the real estate investment trust, or REIT, sector have been small cap REITs.
Take for example STAG Industrial, Inc. ( STAG ), an industrial REIT that I recommended back in 2011 and shares have returned over 350% (13% annually).
There are a number of companies in the REIT sector that I recommended over the years that have been acquired, such as:
- QTS Realty (formerly QTS).
- American Campus (formerly ACC).
- RPT Realty (formerly RPT).
- CyrusOne (formerly CONE).
