CCF - Chase Corp. gains on report KKR close to acquiring special-chemicals maker

• Chase Corp. ( NYSE: CCF ) rose 3% amid a report that KKR ( KKR ) is nearing a deal to acquire the special-chemicals make for about $1.3 billion including debt.
• A deal could be reached as soon as Friday, according to a WSJ report on Thursday, which cited people familiar. Chase ( CCF ) has a market cap of $1.18 billion.
• The news comes after the WSJ reported last month that Chase ( CCJ ) was working with financial advisors on a potential sale. The specialty chemical maker reportedly received multiple bids from private equity firms including Pritzker Private Capital, a family-owned investment firm connected to the family of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and others, as well as other industrial companies.
