China's antitrust approval of Marvell's (MRVL) planned purchase of Inphi Corp. (IPHI) wasn't as smooth as some may have thought, according to a new report.Marvell had some issues in the early phase with Chinese industry participants questioning Marvell's market definition, according to MLex.  The deal had to be reviewed under the regular timeline instead of simplified procedure.The report also highlights how Applied Materials (AMAT) recent decision to abandon its purchase of Kokusai Electric  could be another negative sign for Chinese approval of Nvidia's (NVDA) planned acquisition of Arm (ARMHF)Other big technology/semiconductor deals that still need Chinese antitrust approval include AMD's (AMD) purchase of Xilinx (XLNX) and Maxim Integrated's (MXIM) planned purchase of Analog Devices.
