Cream cheese recalls are in effect as two grocery store chains in the U.S. are warning of a potential salmonella contamination in their products.
The first cream cheese recall comes from Aldi , which affects four of the grocery chain’s cream cheese products sold in 8-ounce containers. The affected products were sold in the following states:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- California
- Delaware
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kentucky
- Maryland
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- New Jersey
- New York
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Virginia
- Washington, D.C.
- West Virginia
- Wisconsin
These are the cream cheese products that are subject to the Aldi recalls:
- Whipped Cream Cheese Spread with sell by dates 8/30/2024, 8/31/2024, 9/01/2024, 9/03/2024 and 9/04/2024.
- Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread with sell by dates 9/13/2024 and 9/22/2024.
- Cream Cheese Spread with sell by dates 9/01/2024, 9/08/2024 and 9/15/2024.
- Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread with sell by dates 9/08/2024 and 9/15/2024.
Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Recalls
The second cream cheese recall was announced by Hy-Vee earlier this month. It affects its Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread and Hy-Vee Whipped Cream Cheese Spread. The UPCs on these products are “0075450096120” and “0075450096132.”
The Hy-Vee cream cheese recalls also came alongside a recall of its bulk-packaged Cookies & Cream Mix. This recall was also connected to concerns about a possible salmonella contamination.
