CUB - CUBIC gets takeover proposal from ST Engineering for $76/share

Cubic (CUB) +10.4% pre-market on news it received an unsolicited proposal from Singapore Technologies Engineering to acquire the company for $76/share in cash.Immediately following the acquisition, ST Engineering would sell Cubic's CMPS business to an affiliate of Blackstone Tactical Opportunities.Cubic agreed last month to an offer from Veritas Capital and Elliott Management to acquire the company for $70/share in cash.Cubic's board says the ST Engineering proposal is a superior proposal, and will engage in discussions with STE to further evaluate the merits and risks of the proposal.
