KLMR - EU removes U.S. from safe list due to rising COVID-19 cases - Reuters
EU countries today agreed to remove the U.S. from its list of safe countries, meaning visitors will see additional restrictions such as testing and potentially quarantines, Reuters reports. Kosovo, Israel, Montenegro, Lebanon and North Macedonia were also taken off the list because of rising COVID-19 cases. EU countries are not obligated to follow the list, though most countries have. The average U.S. infection rate is above that seen in the EU. The restriction is likely to have a dampening effect on travel to the EU from the US, which had been accelerating. Airline stocks: Delta Air Lines (AAL -2.9%), American Airlines (AAL -2.9%), United Airlines (UAL -3.1%), Air France (OTCPK:AFRAF), Lufthansa (OTCQX:DLAKF +2.0%), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (OTCPK:KLMR)
