FLGR - Euro area inflation rate accelerates to 2.6% in May as expected

• Annual inflation rate in the Euro Area increased to 2.6% in May 2024 from 2.4% in each of the previous two months, in line with the preliminary figures.
• The largest upward contribution came from the services sector.
• Meanwhile, the core rate which excludes prices for energy, food, alcohol and tobacco also increased to 2.9% from 2.7%.
