FSTX - F-star Therapeutics jumps as it extends walk date with buyer to `finalize CFIUS agreement

F-star Therapeutics ( NASDAQ: FSTX ) soared 18% after announcing that it's extended the termination date for its planned merger with invoX Pharma again as it needs additional time to "finalize" an agreement to remove CFIUS's order blocking the deal from closing.

The end date is being extended from Friday until March 7 and the tender offer is being extended until March 3, according to an 8-K filing earlier Thursday.

"The Parties believe they are in the late stages of the approval process for a definitive agreement necessary to remove CFIUS’s Interim Order and allow the transaction to close," the parties said in the filing.  "However, there can be no assurances that the Parties will reach a final agreement with CFIUS."

Investors like seeing the change in the language as far as pertaining to CFIUS clearance as positive as the previous extension earlier this month didn't include any language about finalizing and "lates stages" of an agreement with CFIUS.

F-Star ( FSTX ) has extending the termination date a few times  as it tries to work out a mitigation agreement with CFIUS that would allow the deal to go pass. The parties extended the deadline before in late December .

F-star Therapeutics plunged 40% on Dec. 29 after CFIUS issued an interim order blocking its planned sale to Sino Biopharmaceutical ( OTCPK:SBHMY ).

China's Sino Biopharmaceutical's ( OTCPK:SBHMY ) unit invoX Pharma agreed to acquire F-star ( FSTX ) in a $161M all-cash deal in late June.
