HNDAF - In Q2 2021 Honda Overtook Toyota In The Biggest U.S. Car Segment
- For the last few years, Toyota RAV4 has been the best-selling nameplate in the largest non-pickup truck segment: Compact SUV-crossover.
- In Q2 2021, Honda CR-V overtook Toyota RAV-4 in the U.S. market thanks to 76% year-over-year growth compared to “only” 25% for Toyota.
- The best performer of them all was Nissan Rogue, which grew 102% and, as a result, is now at 13% market share, not too far behind Toyota and Honda.
- Honorable mentions to Mazda CX-5 with 74% growth and Ford whose Bronco Sport more than makes up for the weakness in Escape sales.
- The worst performers are now Jeep (Stellantis), Chevrolet Equinox (GM), and Subaru Forester.
