KIMTF - Kia America sales down 7.2% in October
Kia America (OTCPK:KIMTF) reports October sales fell 7.2% Y/Y to 52,067 units. In October, the automaker sold 82% of available inventory and and saw 91% Y/Y growth in sales of its hybrid and battery-electric vehicles. On YTD basis, sales expanded 25.4% to 607,592 units. "Demand for new Kia vehicles remains strong as evidenced by selling more vehicles in the first ten months of 2021 compared to all of 2020," said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. "Despite ongoing supply chain issues and chip shortages, we expect our available supply and robust customer interest will help us have a strong finish to the year."
