LNW - Light & Wonder acquires remaining stake in SciPlay Corporation

  • Cross-platform games firm Light & Wonder ( NASDAQ: LNW ) will acquire the remaining 17% stake in digital games developer SciPlay ( SCPL ) for $22.95/share in cash, the companies said on Tuesday.
  • “Our combined balance sheets will provide us with the flexibility to further invest in developing and launching great games cross-platform and deliver enhanced returns to shareholders," said Matt Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Light & Wonder.
  • The transaction has been approved by the board of SciPlay.
  • The companies expect the transaction to close during the fourth quarter of 2023.
  • Following the deal, SciPlay will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Light & Wonder.
