COOP - Mr. Cooper Group extends tender offer for Home Point Capital

- Mortgage servicing company Mr. Cooper Group ( NASDAQ: COOP ) has extended the expiration of its tender offer for Home Point Capital ( HMPT ) to July 21, 2023, 5:00 PM ET from its previous expiration of June 27, the company said on Wednesday.
- As of 5:00 PM ET, June 27, approximately 136M shares of Home Point had been validly tendered, representing ~98.2% of the company's shares outstanding.
- Mr. Cooper ( COOP ) had agreed in May to acquire Home Point Capital ( HMPT ) for $324M in cash, or $2.33 per share. HMPT shares closed at $2.31 on Tuesday.
- With the announcement of the deal, SA analyst Douglas McKenney sees Mr. Cooper ( COOP ) as a winner in an era of consolidation.
