While the stocks weighed down by their alleged involvement in the U.S. opioid crisis witnessed a major removal of the overhang this week with a $26B settlement, the drug developers focused on Alzheimer’s disease rallied ahead of a key industry conference next week. Among healthcare stocks (with more than $300M market cap and over 100K average daily volume of shares), NRx Pharmaceuticals (NRXP) led the gainers with a ~190.7% rise over the week. On Monday, the company announced that its experimental COVID-19 therapy ZYESAMI (aviptadil), helped prevent the cytokine storm associated with the disease.
