The investment seeks high current income without undue risk to principal. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in debt securities and in derivatives and other instruments that have economic characteristics similar to such securities. The fund may not invest more than 20% of fixed-income securities (by weight of all fixed-income securities in the portfolio) in non-agency, non-government sponsored entities, or privately issued mortgage- or asset-backed securities.
