This requirement was part of the game’s original plan but was not enforced initially due to a messy launch. Sony Group Corp‘s (NYSE:SONY) announcement of the account linking requirement led to a significant outcry from the community.
Following the announcement, the game faced significant backlash on Steam, resulting in over 14,000 negative reviews in a single day. This led to a drop in the game’s review score from “mostly positive” to “mixed.”
