PDD Holdings Inc’s (NASDAQ:PDD) Chinese online marketplace Temu is attracting manufacturers previously affiliated with its fast-fashion rival, Shein, by offering them a new platform to sell their cheap goods as Shein aims to refine its supply chain for a prominent U.S. listing.
Temu and Shein played an integral role as rivals of Jack Ma co-founded Chinese e-commerce juggernaut Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE:BABA).
Shein, based in Singapore, cut ties with several suppliers in southern China due to violations of the company’s certification standards, discovered by auditors last year.
