CMCSA - 'Spiral' repeats atop slow box office at home but 'F9' revs up overseas
The weekend's box office receipts offered ammunition for either of a tale of two takes. As predicted, no new wide releases domestically meant a very slow weekend for moviegoing in the U.S., where horror film Spiral ([[LGF.A]], [[LGF.B]]) repeated at the top spot, but with just $4.5M gross. That was about a 48% drop-off from the previous weekend. Appearing in 180 more theaters meant per-screen average fell further. But it was good enough to again top Jason Statham-starring Wrath of Man (MGMB), which drew $2.9M, as well as Angelina Jolie thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead (T), which is in theaters as well as on HBO Max.
