VANCOUVER, BC - TheNewswire – January 7 th , 2021 – Izotropic Corporation (“ Izotropic ” orthe “ Company ”) (CSE:IZO) (CNSX:IZO.CN) US (OTC:IZOZF)(FSE: 1R3) is pleased to announce the addition ofJeff Siewerdsen Ph.D. to the Company’s Scientific Advisory Board ,comprised of industry experts and authorities in their respectivefields.
Dr. Siewerdsen is a Professor andVice-Chair in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at JohnsHopkins University in Baltimore, with appointments in Radiology,Neurosurgery, and Computer Science. His research is focused on newmedical imaging technologies and algorithms, including CT andcone-beam CT (CBCT), image reconstruction and registration, and thephysics of image quality.
Dr. Siewerdsen’s contributions include thedevelopment of new 3D imaging systems for image-guided radiationtherapy, image-guided surgery, and point-of-care diagnostic imaging inorthopaedics and neuro-critical care. He was on the team that firstintroduced CBCT for guidance of radiotherapy – a technology that isnow a standard-of-care. His work on CBCT mobile C-arms has helped tointroduce intraoperative CBCT and high-precision guidance in numeroussurgical applications. He also developed some of the first CBCTsystems for orthopaedic extremity imaging as well as high-qualitypoint-of-care imaging of head trauma. Underlying such systems areadvanced algorithms for high-quality 3D image reconstruction andregistration as well as mathematical models of 3D image quality tooptimize the design of new imaging systems for particular imagingtasks. Dr. Siewerdsen’s work is marked by close clinicalcollaboration with radiologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologiststo accelerate the translation of concepts to first clinicalapplications.
Dr. Siewerdsen’s appointment to the ScientificAdvisory Board expands the Company’s expertise in developing theBreast CT imaging platform for new and complementary products.
The Company has granted Dr. Siewerdsen 100,000 stock options at anexercise price of $1.25.
The stock optionsare in effect for two (2) years and vest immediately.
