Jobs data will provide Wall Street's central talking point during Friday's trading. Stocks rallied Thursday headed into the release of the government's monthly employment report, led by a 1.3% rise in the Nasdaq. Here are some stocks to watch on Friday:
- Broadcom ( NASDAQ: AVGO ) reported Q2 earnings that topped expectations, with revenue that climbed about 8% from last year. The top-line figure reached $8.7B, with $6.8B coming from its semiconductor solutions offering. For Q3, AVGO predicted revenue of about $8.85B.
- Lululemon Athletica ( LULU ) soared in premarket trading, rising 15% after the athletic and casual apparel company exceeded projections with its Q1 results . The better-than-expected figures included revenue of $2B, a 24% surge from last year. Comparable sales advanced 14%, or 17% on a constant dollar basis. Looking ahead, LULU targeted Q2 revenue between $2.14B and $2.17B.
- Takeover news sparked an 8% premarket advance in shares of Stratasys ( SSYS ) before the opening bell. 3D Systems ( DDD ) confirmed that it has made an offer to acquire the rival 3D printer company. Under the bid, DDD would exchange $7.50 in cash and 1.2507 newly issued DDD shares for each share of SSYS.
- MongoDB ( MDB ) jumped 27% in premarket action after the cloud software provider topped projections with its Q1 results and issued an upbeat forecast. Revenue climbed 29% from last year to reach $368M, bolstered by 40% growth in its managed database service Atlas.
