  • Academy Sports and Outdoors ( NASDAQ: ASO ) said on Thursday that Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer Steven Lawrence has been appointed CEO and board member, effective June 1.
  • Ken Hicks, chairman, president and CEO, will transition to the role of executive board chair.
  • Lawrence is set to continue to serve as a chief merchandising officer until a successor is appointed.
  • Executive Vice President and CFO Michael Mullican will become president and also assume additional responsibilities of strategic planning, logistics and supply chain, legal, compliance and risk management functions.
