ASO - Academy Sports: Cash Returning To Shareholders With Dividend Initiation

• Academy Sports and Outdoors posted fantastic Q42021 and FY2021 results, exceeding estimates and turning in its most profitable year in company history.
• Academy is now paying a quarterly dividend, as I speculated was not far off in December, and there is plenty of room for growth in the dividend.
• The company continues to be undervalued given its history of outperformance and significant plans for growth in the next 5 years with up to 100 new stores.
• 2022 will be a year of stabilization for Academy with flat earnings growth, but the company will only continue to return cash to shareholders while improving the efficiencies of its business.
• I have a strong buy on the stock and have recently initiated a position that I plan on growing in my portfolio in 2022.
