MUDS - Alex Rodriguez's SLAM SPAC is said in talks to take Italy's Panini Group public

(SLAM) is said in talks to take Italy's Panini SpA, which makes sports stickers, cards and other collectibles, public. A deal is set to value the combined company at at least $3B, according to a Bloomberg report. Panini, known for making soccer stickers traded by fans around the world, was said to be weighing a sale, Bloomberg reported in February. A-Rod's SLAM raised $500M in an initial public offering in February. A-Rod and other executives wrote in the SPAC’s S-1 filing that they intend to focus acquisition efforts on businesses “in the sports, media, entertainment, health and wellness and consumer technology sectors. However, we do not intend to target professional sports franchises.” SPAC Mudrick Acquisition (MUDS) agreed to take Topps trading cards public in a deal valued at $1.3B in April.
