XLNX - AMD gets unconditional approval for its planned Xilinx acquisition from European Union
designer491/iStock via Getty Images Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) won unconditional approval from the European Union for its planned $35B acquisition of Xilinx (XLNX), according to the agency's website. AMD originally filed for the Xilinx deal with the EU in late May. Yesterday, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority approved the deal. The deal still is awaiting approval in China. In January, the mandatory waiting period required for the FTC and Department of Justice to investigate deals for potential antitrust issues expired.
