AEL - American Equity Investment Life Q2 sales climbs to $2B

• American Equity Investment Life ( NYSE: AEL ) said on Tuesday its Q2 sales totaled $2B, the majority of which were in fixed index annuities (FIA), up from $1.4B total sales i n Q1 2023, in which FIA sales accounted for almost $1B.
• Q2 sales include $1.9B in FIA. Total enterprise FIA sales rose 94% from Q1 2023 and 141% from Q2 2022.
• FIA sales at American Equity Life in the Independent Marketing Organization channel increased 99% from Q1 2023, while Eagle Life FIA sales through banks and broker-dealers rose 77% Q/Q.
• Q2 earnings will be released on Aug. 7, 2023, after the market closes. Due to American Equity Investment's ( AEL ) agreement to be acquired by Brookfield Reinsurance ( BNRE ), AEL won't be holding any earnings conference calls going forward.
