POWW - American Outdoor Brands slides after cautious guidance; sporting goods peers also lower
Vertigo3d/iStock via Getty Images American Outdoor Brands ([[AOUT]] -20.1%) tumbles after its weak forecast rattles investors. The outdoors products company cut its FY22 EPS guidance to $2.02 to $2.26 vs. $2.13 consensus to take into account supply chain constraints, normalized G&A costs with a return of trade shows, marketing and traveling, as well as a more conservative expectation on promotional activity. Shares of American Outdoor Brands are still up more than 60% for the year as the company's growth prospects attracted a flood of buyers. Related outdoors and hunting stocks that are lower today along with AOUT include Smith & Wesson ([[SWBI]] -2.1%), Big 5 Sporting Goods ([[BGFV]] -0.4%), Vista Outdoor ([[VSTO]] -2.0%), Academy Sports and Outdoors ([[ASO]] -1.5%), AMMO ([[POWW]] -0.8%) and Dick's Sporting Goods ([[DKS]] -1.5%).
