GLW - Apple supplier stocks dip after iPhone 13 launch event
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares closed down 1% today after the fall hardware event that debuted the iPhone 13 lineup and the Watch Series 7. The device specs matched previous reports and leaks, though this lack of surprise combined with the off-year cycle could be driving the share pressure. Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS), whose tech helps power the iPhone's wireless communications, fell 1.7% before the close. Modem supplier Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) and display glass supplier Corning (NYSE:GLW) posted similar declines. Memory provider Micron (NASDAQ:MU) dipped about 1%, as did Jabil (NYSE:JBL), a contract manufacturer for the Watch. Analysts were largely positive on the launch day, saying the iPhone 13 sets Apple up for the holiday season.
