AUVI - Applied UV to install Airocide units at AFRIMS facility in Bangkok; shares rise
Pathogen elimination technology company Applied UV (NASDAQ:AUVI) has jumped +12.36% pre-market after announcing the installation of its Airocide units at a prestigious biomedical facility in Thailand. Applied UV's Thailand distributor, Sithiporn Associates, will be deploying Airocide at the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences (AFRIMS) in Bangkok, Thailand to help create cleaner and safer environments for visitors and staff. Airocide uses NASA optimized photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) technology wherein air and any contaminants are drawn from the room into the unit and channeled into the reaction chamber that uses narrow-range ultraviolet light to destroy pathogen. AFRIMS is a biomedical research facility of the U.S. Army's Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and has primarily focused on diseases related to infectious pathogens.
