CXSE - Asia-Pacific markets mixed tracking losses on Wall Street on weak global clues

Japan -0.11% . BOJ minutes show deviating views on future policy direction .
The index of leading economic indicators in Japan was revised higher to 108.2 in July 2023, compared to a preliminary estimate of 107.6.
China +0.30%. China's industrial profits rebound in August but extend slump for Jan-Aug .
Meantime, property woes in main trading partner China continued to stoke fears of a slowdown in the economy.
Hong Kong +0.55% . Hong Kong’s trade declined at a slower rate in August, with imports and exports falling by 0.3% and 3.7% year on year respectively.
India -0.27%.
Australia -0.29%. Australian August monthly inflation data 5.2% y/y (vs. 5.2% expected).
The Business Survey Index for the manufacturing sector in South Korea came at 68 in August of 2023, slightly up from 67 in the previous month, missing market expectations of 69.
In the U.S. on Tuesday, all three major indexes ended in red amid concerns about the prospect of higher-for-longer US rates and their economic fallout. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite retreated 1.57% to end at 13,063.61 points. The benchmark S&P 500 declined 1.47% to settle at 4,273.51 points, while the blue-chip Dow slid 1.14% to close at 33,618.62 points.
Oil prices ticked up in early trade on Wednesday as markets focus on supply tightness.
Brent crude futures rose 33 cents, or 0.4%, to $94.29 a barrel by 0015 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures climbed 31 cents, or 0.3%, to $90.70.
Gold held its recent decline to around $1,900 an ounce on Wednesday, hovering at one-month lows and facing constant pressure from a strong dollar and Treasury yields on the back of a higher-for-longer interest rate scenario.
