Japan's housing starts dropped by 6.8% year-on-year in September 2023, compared with market forecasts of a 4.7% decline and after a 9.4% fall in the previous month.
The consumer confidence index in Japan increased to 35.7 in October of 2023 from September’s six-month low of 35.2.

In the U.S. on Monday, all three major indexes ended sharply higher , following last week's sell-off, as the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq finished nearly 1.2% higher, while the Dow Jones jumped 511 points to booked its best day since June.
U.S. stock futures eased on Tuesday after staging a relief rally during the last regular session: Dow +0.02%; S&P 500 -0.22%; Nasdaq -0.42%.
Traders were cautious ahead of monetary policy decisions from major central banks this week including the Federal Reserve, Bank of England and escalating conflict in the Middle East also pressured sentiment amid worries about rising oil prices.
