BGRY - Astra rides launch wave to top industrial gainer as earnings sink decliners
Rocket maker Astra Space zoomed in to take the top spot after being the top loser two weeks ago. Meanwhile, earnings was the main theme among most of the gainers and decliners. Industrial Select Sector SPDR (NYSEARCA:XLI) rose +0.17% in the week ending Aug. 6. The top five gainers in the industrial sector (stocks with a market cap of over $2B): Astra Space (NASDAQ:ASTR) +28.67% soared after announcing a launch window beginning on Aug. 27 for its first commercial orbital launch with the U.S. Space Force. Investors, however, may keep a keen eye seeing how fellow space company Virgin Galactic plummeted following Richard Branson's spaceflight. Atkore (NYSE:ATKR) +14.54% gaining after reporting +30.2% Y/Y increase in revenues. YTD, the electrical components maker stock has risen +109.27%. Virgin Galactic (NYSE:SPCE) +11.27% was back in the gainers list after announcing that it was reopening ticket sales after seeing strong interest in the Unity 22 flight.
