Gaining access. Aurania Resources announced an access agreement with the community of “Kim” in the southern portion of its Lost Cities project. The Kim community is near where Metron, Incorporated projected the potential location of one of the Lost Cities. Recall Aurania engaged Metron, Incorporated to provide data analytic and statistical analysis services to aid the company’s search for two historic gold mining centers, Logrono de los Caballeros and Sevilla del Oro, both believed to be within the Lost Cities project.Employing big data. Metron used a Bayesian framework to integrate data collected by Aurania, including historical information, maps, topographic data, geologic information, exploration and geophysical survey data, and satellite imagery to produce a probability map of the location of Logrono de los Caballeros based on statistical algorithms. With the recent access agreement, Aurania intends to focus its work on Kim.Community engagement. Aurania recently hired Ms. Carolina Lasso Amaya as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility. Ms. Lasso has been the Director of the Step Forward Foundation in Ecuador and has extensive knowledge of the communities in the Cordillera de Cutucu. Ms. Lasso successfully negotiated access to Kim. She is a resident of Ecuador and is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Step Forward, Ms. Lasso worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombia, primarily working with indigenous groups.Rating is Market Perform.
