PK - Baird's five focus factors as hotel REITs post earnings
With a look ahead into earnings for the hotel Real Estate Investment Trusts, Baird says it's expecting the group to highlight ongoing sequential improvement and continued optimism for a quicker recovery than expected. And while the sector seems to be trading on macroeconomic and COVID-19 concerns (such as the surging Delta variant of COVID-19), the firm says its view of fundamentals through 2022-2023 is positively biased. "Capital markets activity and acquisition announcements have been plentiful, and companies are likely to remain focused on offense, in our opinion; for now, the capital deployment opportunities have been focused on resorts," analyst Michael Bellisario says.
