BAYRY - Bayer wins Roundup trial in Missouri court ahead of Supreme Court move
Bayer (OTCPK:BAYRY) said on Friday that a Missouri court ruled in its favor in a trial regarding claims that its Roundup weedkiller causes cancer, which would mark a third consecutive court victory for the company in the U.S. Previously, three U.S. juries had found in favor of plaintiffs who said that the glyphosate-based weedkiller caused their cancer, awarding them hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. Bayer (OTCPK:BAYRY) shares -3.6% in early trading as the stock market shows broad losses. The verdict comes days before an eagerly anticipated Supreme Court announcement on whether it will hear Bayer's (OTCPK:BAYRY) bid to review an appeals court decision that upheld $25M in damages awarded to a California resident that had used Roundup. Bayer (OTCPK:BAYRY) has asked the Supreme Court to find that federal approval of Roundup's product label by the Environmental Protection Agency meant the suit could not be brought forward under California
