BDX - BD launches combination test to detect multiple respiratory infections including COVID

• Becton, Dickinson ( NYSE: BDX ) announced on Thursday that its BD MAX Respiratory Viral Panel (RVP) — a combination test designed to detect multiple respiratory infections including COVID-19 — has been CE marked in the in Europe under the In Vitro Diagnostics Directive.
• A molecular diagnostic platform, BD MAX System is designed to detect SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A + B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) with the use of a single nasal swab or a single nasopharyngeal swab.
• The system is currently available in countries where CE marking is recognized, Becton, Dickinson ( BDX ) said, adding that the company is anticipating a regulatory submission with the U.S. FDA in the coming weeks for its Emergency Use Authorization.
