• BHP offered $259 million to acquire Noront resources.
• Noront is the key player in the Canadian Ring of Fire region.
• Noront holds 7 known chromite, nickel, copper, and PGM deposits in the area, and two of them have completed feasibility studies.
• There is huge exploration potential and it is almost sure that further deposits will be discovered on the large land package.
• The development of the Ring of Fire mining complex is supported by the government, however, the projects have to face local opposition.
