NFLX - Big movies muscle out TV in new weekly streaming ratings
Early November proved to be movie time on key streaming services, as the usually TV-heavy ratings for direct-to-consumer programs made way for some heavily watched films. The top three programs were films on Nielsen's most recent weekly streaming ratings (for the period of Nov. 8-Nov. 14), and four of the top 10 overall. That was led by Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) hit Red Notice, which streamed 1.84 billion minutes to top all titles. Netflix had signaled its success in its own service rankings, when the movie became its most popular English-language film ever. (In Netflix's rankings, this past week saw the success of The Unforgivable, which it says streamed 85.86 million hours.) Red Notice was followed up on Nielsen's overall chart by a pair of Disney+ Day (NYSE:DIS) releases: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings streamed 1.072 billion minutes, while Jungle Cruise streamed 908 million.
