BA - Boeing delivers first of three satellites to Viasat for launch

Boeing ( NYSE: BA ) on Monday said it delivered a 702MP+ satellite to network provider Viasat ( VSAT ).
The ViaSat-3 Americas was shipped from a Boeing ( BA ) factory in El Segundo, California, to Florida, where it will be launched to an orbit 22,000 miles from Earth. The spacecraft will be the first of three 702MP+ satellites to make up the ViaSat-3 satellite constellation.

“We designed, built and delivered the most powerful satellite platform we have ever provided to a customer,” Michelle Parker, vice president of space mission systems at Boeing Defense, Space & Security ( BA ), said in a statement. "The result really is an engineering marvel."
Boeing's ( BA ) stock on Monday rose as much as 2.4% to $205.87. The shares have risen about 10% in the past 12 months, contrasting with a 10% decline for the Standard & Poor's 500 stock index ( SP500 ).
