EMNT - Bond Allocation In A Zero Interest Rate Environment
- With interest rates hovering just above zero, it's questionable whether bonds will continue to play their traditional role as income generators and portfolio stabilizers going forward.
- My preference is to lower one's allocation to bonds, and to stick only to ultra-short term bonds.
- Ultra-short term bonds offer superior stability and faster income growth during periods of rising rates.
- Perhaps there is a little more juice to be wrung out of long-term bonds, but is it really worth the risk?
