ENFA - BuzzFeed nears merger deal to go public via SPAC acquire Complex - WSJ
Roman Tiraspolsky/iStock Editorial via Getty Images A long-discussed deal for digital media company BuzzFeed (BUZZF) to go public via a blank-check company is close at hand, The Wall Street Journal reports. And it's wrapped up in a plan to consolidate other players as well, a play for scale to compete for the advertising-dollars pot with the likes of Facebook, Google and Amazon. Special-purpose acquisition company 890 5th Avenue Partners (ENFA) could have a merger transaction as soon as this week, according to the report, and the deal would generate capital to pursue other acquisitions including Complex Networks. [[ENFA]] is up 4.6% postmarket. Earlier this month, BuzzFeed was reported to be in talks to raise about $200M through convertible bonds, a cash-building move ahead of such a blank-check merger.
