PCG - California crippled by continuing rain flooding power outages

More than 120K homes and businesses in California remain without power early Monday, down from more than 500K earlier, after another massive storm unleashed torrents of rain across the state, causing power outages, landslides and floods.

The National Weather Service warned that northern and central California are still in the path of a "relentless parade of cyclones," promising little relief until the middle of the week.

According to PowerOutage.us, PG&E ( NYSE: PCG ) was the utility with the most outages with more than 73K customers without power, followed by Sacramento Municipal Utility District at 50K.

The latest storm may dump 2-5 inches of rain in some areas, and 1-4 feet of snow in the Sierra Nevada, according to U.S. Weather Prediction Center's Ashton Robinson Cook, adding that wind gusts may reach 50 mph in many places.

"More than 4,100 crews along with resources are staged throughout our service area, including regions most impacted by the storms," PG&E ( PCG ) said on Sunday .

Long-range forecast models show little change to larger weather patterns until the end of January, which in addition to bringing storms to the West Coast are expected to keep most of the U.S. relatively mild .
