Thorold, Ontario, July 17, 2024 – TheNewswire – St-Georges Eco-Mining Corp . (CSE: SX) (OTCQB:SXOOF) (FSE: 85G1) and Call2Recycle Canada , a Canadianleader in battery collection and recycling, are pleased to announcethe operational launch of EVSX’s new battery processing plant inThorold, Ontario. This state-of-the-art facility will recycle theincreasing volumes of alkaline and carbon zinc batteries collectedthrough Call2Recycle’s extensive battery recycling program inOntario and other provinces.

Located at the Bioveld Complex in Niagara, thisinnovative new facility boasts a processing capacity of 4,200 tons ofalkaline batteries per year, achieving an 87.7% ratio of batterycomponents effectively recycled (RER or recycling efficiency rate),the highest efficiency rate for single-use battery recycling inCanada. The addition of this facility supports the increasing volumesof alkaline batteries recycled by Canadians and collected byCall2Recycle (+21% collection growth nationally since 2023, withOntario contributing approximately 40% of these volumes). The plantwill also work with St-Georges Metallurgy (SXM)to transform black mass (a concentrated powder created from therecovery of several battery materials) and develop agriculturalfertilizer products.

EVSX’s facility further strengthens the program’soperations in Ontario, as over 60% of the batteries collected by theprogram in the province can now be processed locally, reducing thetransportation footprint and associated carbon emissions. This localapproach also provides economic benefits, including regional jobgrowth and bolstering Ontario’s circular economy. It will alsosupport national efforts to provide Canadians with convenient andaccessible recycling solutions, contributing to a strong circulareconomy nationwide.
