AC:CC - Canada says it has repaired its own air traffic system issues
After experiencing similar outages to those grounding American planes throughout the morning, Canada’s air traffic controller has said operations are back online.
NAV CANADA reported outages in the Notice to Air Missions system during the afternoon on the east coast, but was restored at about 2:20 PM ET. The agency said in a statement that no delays were caused by the outages.
“NAV CANADA continues to investigate the cause of the outage; at this time, we do not believe it to be related to the FAA outage experienced earlier today,” the agency said after restoring service.
Shares of Air Canada ( OTCQX:ACDVF ), the national carrier, rose 1.81% in the latter part of Wednesday’s trading day.
