The Trans Mountain drama will be coming to an end soon. The Canadian government announced today that it will be buying Kinder Morgan's (KMI) Trans Mountain pipeline for C$4.5 billion.
With the Canadian government stepping into the fray via its purchase, the construction of Trans Mountain will begin the planned expansion this summer. The expansion will boost Trans Mountain's capacity from 300k b/d to 890k b/d, or almost triple the existing capacity.
