KSU - Canadian Pacific Railway steams ahead in Kansas City Southern pursuit

Canadian Pacific Railway (CP -1.0%) is pushing ahead with its pursuit of Kansas City Southern (KSU -0.6%). The company says it is pleased with the decision by the Surface Transportation Board in which it confirmed that CP may use the STB's discovery processes in the CP-KCS docket to "immediately seek" from KSU the materials that are relevant to its preparation of an application of authority to acquire control of the rails target. According to Canadian Pacific, a CP-KCS marriage remains the only viable Class 1 combination. CP, KSU and Canadian National Railway (CNI -1.1%) are all lower amid the M&A drama.
