CSIQ - Canadian Solar's planned Texas plant wins large module order from EDF

Canadian Solar ( NASDAQ: CSIQ ) +1.7% in Wednesday's trading after announcing an agreement to supply up to 7 GW of solar modules to EDF Renewables for projects in the U.S. from its planned $250M factory in Mesquite, Texas.
The deal is believed the largest for modules in the U.S. by a single company since President Biden took office in January 2021.
Under the deal terms, Canadian Solar ( CSIQ ) will be supply its latest high efficiency N-Type TOPCon solar modules to support EDF Renewables' project pipeline in the U.S. during 2024-30.
Once fully ramped up, the factory is expected to produce 5 GW annually and begin production in Q4 2023.
